1 pkg. Red Star Active Dry Yeast
¼ c. warm water
¼ c. Pillsbury mashed potato flakes
2 T. sugar
2 T. Land O'Lakes butter
1 c. milk (scalded)
2 eggs
3 to 3 ½ c. Pillsbury Best Flour (regular or instant blending)
2 (12 oz.) cans SPAM
sesame or poppy seed

Directions:
Soften yeast in water. Combine potato flakes, sugar, butter, salt, and milk. Cool to lukewarm. Add 1 egg, 1 yolk, and yeast. Gradually add flour to form stiff dough. Knead on floured surface until satiny, 5-7 mins. Place in greased bowl. Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled, 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Cut each can of spam into 6 slices, then cut each slice 4 strips.
Roll half our dough on floured surface to 14x12 inch rectangle. Cut half in crosswise. Cut each half into 6 strips. Top each with 2 strips of spam. Moisten edges. Fold sides to center; seal. Place, seam side down, on greased west bend cookie sheets or teflon cookie pans. Brush with beaten egg whites. Sprinkle with sesame seed. Repeat with remaining dough. Let rise until light. 15 to 30 mins. Bake at 450º for 12 to 15 minutes.
