Ingredients: 2 STICKS (1/2 POUND) UNSALTED BUTTER 8 OUNCES BITTERSWEET OR SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE, ROUGHLY CHOPPED 4 LARGE EGGS 1/2 TSP SALT 1 CUP SUGAR 1 CUP DARK BROWN SUGAR, FIRMLY PACKED 2 TSP VANILLA 1 CUP FLOUR

Directions:SET RACK IN THE MIDDLE OF OVEN AND PREHEAT TO 350º. LINE A 13X9 INCH PAN WITH PARCHMENT PAPER (BRING PAPER UP SIDES OF PAN SO THERE IS A SLIGHT OVERHANG) GREASE WITH BUTTER OR COOKING SPRAY.
PLACE THE BUTTER IN A MEDIUM MICROWAVE SAFE BOWL AND MELT IN THE MICROWAVE UNTIL BUBBLING. ADD THE CHOCOLATE AND WHISK UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY MELTED. CAN PLACE THE BOWL IN THE MICROWAVE AND HEAT FOR 20 SECONDS TO FULLY MELT.
WHISK THE EGGS IN A LARGE BOWL. ADD SALT, SUGAR, BROWN SUGAR AND VANILLA. WHISK UNTIL SMOOTH (NO BUMPS). WHISK IN THE CHOCOLATE/BUTTER MIXTURE. ADD THE FLOUR AND WHISK UNTIL THE BATTER IS UNIFORM.
POUR THE BATTER INTO THE PREPARED PAN AND SPREAD EVENLY. BAKE FOR 45 MINUTES, UNTIL THE TOP HAS FORMED A SHINY CRUST AND THE BATTER IS MODERATELY FIRM.
COOL COMPLETELY IN THE PAN ON THE RACK. ONCE COOL REMOVE THE BROWNIES FROM THE PAN AND CUT INTO BARS.
CAN BE FROZEN FOR UP TO 3 MONTHS. (WRAP TIGHTLY IN FOIL AND THEN IN ZIPLOCK BAG. THAW OVERNIGHT ON COUNTER BEFORE SERVING. |
