1 lbs. ground beef.
32 oz. Beef or chicken broth.
14 and 1/2 oz can of diced tomatoes undrained
1 small yellow onion, finally diced
3 medium carrots, thinly sliced
2 celery, ribs, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 Tbsp. Sugar.
1 and1/2 tsp. Dried basil.
1/2 tsp. Salt (optional)
1/2 tsp. Dried oregano.
1/2 tsp. Ground cumin.
1 tsp. Chili powder.
1 Tbsp. Ground black pepper
2-15 and 1/2 oz. Black beans drained and rinsed
1 and 1/2 cups cooked rice

In non-stick skillet cook ground beef and drain

Add beef and all other ingredients except black beans and rice to slow cooker

Cover and cook on high for 1 hr. Then cook an additional 4 to 5 hrs. on low

Add beans and rice and cook for another hour or until thoroughly heated.

Serve hot.

Note: Great with corn bread
