1 cup Sugar
1 egg or 3 egg yolks
3 cups Self Rising Flour, sifted
1 cup mashed Bananas
2 tablespoons Soft Shortening
¾ cup Milk
¾ cup Nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Mix well the sugar, shortening, and egg. Stir in milk. Blend in flour and fold in nuts and mashed bananas. Pour into a well-greased loaf pan 9x5x3 and let stand 20 minutes before baking. Heat oven to 350º and bake 60 to 70 minutes or until toothpick stuck into center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold. Cut with thin sharp knife to prevent crumbling.
