Directions:Let's Get Cooking! Step 1: Prepare the Dough 1. In a deep bowl or container, start by pouring in your flour and then add the baking soda. Give them a good mix to combine. 2. Next, add the vegetable oil to the flour mixture. Mix this thoroughly until all the flour has formed uniform crumbs, and the oil is evenly distributed throughout. 3. Now, gradually add the water to the mixture. Keep mixing all the ingredients until the dough becomes very soft and elastic. A great sign that it's ready is that it won't stick to your hands at all. This dough is designed to be incredibly easy to work with, even for those who might not love handling dough. 4. Once your beautiful dough is ready, set it aside for a short while as you turn your attention to the delicious filling. Step 2: Prepare the Filling 1. Take your minced pork and combine it with your chosen spices. 2. To ensure your chebureki are truly delicious and incredibly juicy from the inside, it's essential to add water or broth to the mince. 3. Slowly add water (or broth, if you prefer) to the minced pork, mixing it in thoroughly as you go. Continue adding until the mince achieves a somewhat liquidy consistency, similar to that of a thick pancake batter. Step 3: Assemble Your Chebureki 1. Lightly dust your work surface with flour to prevent sticking. 2. Roll out the prepared dough into a very thin sheet. 3. Cut the rolled-out dough into uniform pieces. From the amount of dough prepared, you should be able to get around 15 uniform pieces, though the exact number might vary based on the size of chebureki you wish to make. 4. Take each individual piece of dough and roll it out into a thin circle. 5. Now, it's time to add the filling! Spread a thin layer of filling onto one half of each dough circle. It's advised not to put too much filling, as this can lead to uneven cooking, with some parts being thicker and others thinner during frying. 6. Carefully fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a beautiful half-moon shape. 7. To ensure your chebureki look great and, more importantly, to keep all that delicious, juicy filling safely inside, firmly press and seal all the edges with a fork. This not only creates a lovely decorative pattern but also prevents the filling from escaping and the cheburek from becoming dry during frying. 8. Your chebureki are now fully assembled and ready for frying. Step 4: Fry Your Chebureki 1. Heat oil in a pan until it's hot enough for frying. 2. Carefully place your assembled chebureki into the hot oil. 3. Fry them until they turn a beautiful golden brown on one side. 4. Once golden on one side, flip them over and continue frying until the second side is also beautifully golden brown. And there you have it! Your homemade Chebureki are ready to be enjoyed!
