1 ½ cups ketchup
½ cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
¼ cup molasses
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
1–2 dashes liquid smoke (optional but helps get that smoky kick)

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Stir continuously until mixture begins to simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.

Taste and adjust sweetness or spice to your liking.

Cool completely, then store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
