1 cup oatmeal
2 cups boiling water
1 Tablespoon butter
2 Tablespoons lard
1 package yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
⅓ cup of warm water
⅔ cup brown sugar
1¾ teaspoon salt
5 cups white flour-approximately

Directions:
Directions:
Mix oatmeal and boiling water. Add butter and lard. Let cool.
Dissolve yeast and sugar in ⅓ cup warm water.
Add add brown sugar and salt to cooled oatmeal mixture.
Stir in 1 cup of flour at a time.
Knead 8-10 times.
Let rise for 30 minutes in warm place.
Punch down and form into balls, placing them in large baking pan.
Let rise again until double in size.
Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Rub butter over tops while warm.
