1 c. Water
3/4 c. Minced carrots
1/4 c. Pearled barley
1/2 c. Minced celery
1/4 c. Minced onion

1/2 c. Water
1 lb. Cooked chicken, cubed (2 c.)
2 c. Chicken broth
1 bay leaf
1/4 t. Cumin
1/2 t. Sea salt
1/2 t. Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan, combine 1 c. Water, carrots, celery, onion, and barley. Bring to a boil, then simmer until veggies and barley are tender, approx. 20 minutes.
Add remaining 1/2 c. Water and all additional ingredients. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Remove bay leaf.

Slow Cooker: Simmer veggies & barely only 10 minutes. Pour into slow cooker and add remaining ingredients. Heat on low for 5 hours.
