1½ cups powered sugar
1 cup softened butter
1 egg
1½ tsp. almond extract
2½ cups flour
1 tsp. cream of Tatar
1 tsp. baking soda
approximately 8 oz. merkins melting chocolate
powered sugar to coat cookies

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º

(1.) in large mixer bowl combine 1½ cups powered sugar and softened butter. Beat at medium speed, scraping the bowl often, until creamy. About 2 minutes.

(2.) Add egg and almond extract; continue beating 1-2 minutes until well mixed. Reduce speed to low.

(3.) Add flour, cream of tatar and baking soda. Continue beating, scraping the bowl often (1- 2 minutes) until well mixed.

(4.) Shape into 1" balls. Roll balls into 2" crescents. Place 2" apart on uncreased cookie sheets.

(5.) Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Cookies do not brown). Cool completely.

(6.) Dip half of each cookie into melted chocolate; sprinkle remaining half with powered sugar. Refrigerate until set.
