1 ½ pt sweetened strawberries, sliced*
1 small package strawberry Jello
3 c. cold milk
2 small packages instant vanilla pudding
1 c. sour cream
3 c. Cool Whip
1 box vanilla wafers

*May use frozen strawberries such as Bird's Eye brand.

Directions:
Heat strawberries with Jello until Jello dissolves. DO NOT ADD WATER. Set aside to cool completely. Beat together milk and pudding. Stir in sour cream and then fold in Cool Whip.

In a decorative 3-quart bowl/trifle dish, place a couple spoonfuls of strawberries on the bottom and spread out. It does not and should not cover the bottom of the dish. Layer wafers, Cool Whip mixture, and then strawberry mixture in the bowl. Repeat. Top with Cool Whip mixture.

This is an old WBTV Top 'o the Day recipe from Barbara McKay that my mom turned into one of her signature dishes. It is devoured by our family and at pot luck dinners. Best served in a glass bowl because of its colorful presentation.
