Cake ingredients:
1 1/2 sticks Crisco (or mix butter-melt a little)
2 Cups sugar
4 Large eggs (beat 5 minutes on high)
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup milk + 1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
Icing:
1 cup sugar
1 16 oz sour cream
1bag of coconut-1/2 bag of coconut fold into mixture
1/2 bag of coconut for topping
Put 1/2 cup of this icing aside

Mix sugar, Crisco or butter, add well beaten eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, gradually add in flour and blend well.
Grease and flour 3 cake pans then pour batter into them
Bake 350º 25-30 minutes.
Frost the cake by layering: put icing between layers.
Then frost tops and sides. Take the mix you saved and add a large cool whip to it and fold in then frost the cake with this final layer.
Sprinkle the 1/2 bag of coconut over the tops and sides.
