Ingredients:
Ingredients:
one can san marzano tomatoes (28 oz.)
large yellow onion
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ cup olive oil
fresh basil
5 cloves of garlic
½ stick of butter

Directions:
Directions:
1. Make your basil and garlic infused oil. Combine ½ cup of olive oil, 5 smashed garlic cloves, ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, and a handful of basil. On medium-low heat let the mixture simmer for 1-2 minutes, until the basil is wilted. Set aside in a bowl. I mash it together with a fork.
2. Slice onion in half. Add half stick of butter and 1 tablespoon of oil to a large pot or dutch oven if you have one. On medium-high heat melt the butter, cook until beginning to brown. Place the onion halves cut side down in the butter. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
3. Carefully add your canned tomatoes to the butter and onion. Mash the tomatoes. Once the tomato sauce is boiling, turn the heat to low. Season with salt, cover with lid and simmer 20-25 minutes.
4. Add the basil oil to the simmering tomato sauce 10 minutes before your time is up.
5. Add your spaghetti and some of the spaghetti water to the tomato sauce and serve.

Personal Notes:
This recipe is from the show The Bear. Once you make this spaghetti you will never go back to the store bought spaghetti sauce again.
