4 (6oz.) top round steaks
2 tablespoons creole seasoning
1 cup milk or buttermilk
1 large egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
vegetable oil, for frying

Directions:

Sprinkle steaks with creole seasoning and place steak between 2 pieces of plastic wrap and pound with a meat mallet until 1/4 inch thick. In a shallow bowl, whisk together milk, and egg, in another bowl whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper then season with salt and pepper.
Dredge each piece of steak in milk then in flour mixture. Place in refrigerator while you make the gravy.

To make the gravy, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add flour and cook until golden and bubbling, 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat 1/2 to 1 inch oil. Fry each steak until golden, about 4 minutes per side. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate, and season with salt and pepper while hot
