2 1/2 c sugar
2/3 c evaporated milk with dash of cream of tartar
1 1/2 c chopped pitted dates (usually 1 pkg)
2 c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar and evaporated milk to soft ball stage (235º), stirring constantly. Add chopped dates, cook to soft ball stage, again. Add nuts. Stir until cooked and thickened. Spoon onto damp cheesecloth, make long roll and wrap and put into refrigerator. When cold and hardened, unwrap and slice.
