1 lb. loaf French bread
6 eggs
1 ½ cups milk
⅓ cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
½ cup applesauce
3 apples
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking oil (don't miss this part, I forgot to, and it took quite a bit of soaking and scrubbing to clean up afterwards).

2. Slice your loaf of French bread into 1 ½ inch slices and lay them flat inside your pan.

3. Add the eggs to a medium sized mixing bowl and whisk them smooth.

4. Add milk, ⅓ cup sugar, vanilla, and applesauce. Stir till they are mixed well.

5. Pour the custard over the bread.

6. Peel, core, and dice your apples.

7. Sprinkle your apples all over the top of the bread.

8. Sprinkle the nutmeg, cinnamon, brown, and white sugar over the top of the bread and apples.

9. Cover with foil and set in the fridge overnight.

10. In the morning, preheat your oven to 350º degrees F.

11. Place the pan to bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown and French toast is cooked throughout about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

12. Serve warm with your choice of syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, fruit, etc.
