1 c. flour
1 c. yellow cornmeal
2/3 c. sugar
1 t. salt
3-1/2 t. baking powder
1/3 c. melted butter
1 large egg
1 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Grease 9" round cake pan or cast-iron skillet well. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a medium bowl, add the flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, & baking powder. Whisk well.
Make a well in center of dry ingredients and add butter, milk, & egg. Stir just until the
mixture comes together and there are only a few lumps remaining.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is a deep golden brown and toothpick comes out clean. Serve hot.

Can double the recipe and put 9x13" pan or 34-40 minutes.
