1 cup instant non-fat dry milk powder
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/8 cup dried onion flakes

Directions:
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

When ready to cook, measure 1/4 cup of the mix and add it to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 2 tablespoons of melted butter and 1 cup of cold milk or water, depending on your preference or dietary needs.

Whisk continuously. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, and continue to stir constantly to avoid scorching. Cook until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency, then remove from heat and use as needed.
