250 g whole meal flour
60 g plain flour
50 g porridge oats
50 g melted butter
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1½ tsp soda
80 g treacle
300 ml buttermilk
extra oats

In a bowl mix up the flours, oats, melted butter, sugar, salt, soda, treacle and buttermilk. Add to a lined no stick foil in a loaf pan. Sprinkle the top with additional oats.

Bake in a 160 C (320 F) oven for 1 hour. Sprinkle top with castor sugar while warm.
