6 large potatoes, peeled and diced
2 pound cabbage, diced
1/2 cup butter, cut-up
2 Tbsp onions or chives, chopped
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
Put potatoes into a large saucepan with cold salted water and bring to a boil. Simmer until tender and drain. In another large saucepan combine the cabbage with enough salted water to cover and bring to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes, or until tender and then drain. In a large bowl mash the potatoes, stir in the butter, chives or onions, milk, cabbage, salt and pepper to taste. Put into a greased 2-quart baking dish, sprinkle cheese over, and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
