Personal Notes:
Considering our solid Belgian heritage and blood line, Belgian pie was a must for almost any special occasion. Mom always loved to contribute Belgian pies, whether she made them or bought them from her favorite bakery in later years, it was surely always a family, staple dessert and still is to this day. Char even baked them, along with a family friend Deb Thayse for dessert and Derek & Elisabeth Schmelzer’s wedding.
