2 pkgs. dry yeast
2 c. warm water
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. melted margarine
5 - 5 1/2 c. flour
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. whipped cream (nothing else but)

Optional fillings: cinnamon, sugar, sunflower seeds, nuts, etc.

Dissolve yeast in water with 1/2 tsp. sugar. Let stand 3 minutes. Mix in egg, salt, sugar, margarine and 1 c. flour. Beat well. Add remaining flour gradually, beating well after each addition. Cover bowl and let rise until double in bulk.

Punch down and roll out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 12 in. by 17 in. long. Filling may be added at this time: spread with soft butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar to cover evenly and top that with seeds or nuts. Roll jelly-roll style keeping it 17 in. long. Cut into 1 in. slices using scissors and yardstick for measuring.

Generously grease 9x13 pan with butter. Spread brown sugar evenly over bottom of pan. Pour whipping cream evenly over the brown sugar. Arrange rolls on top of sugar and cream with cut sides up and touching on the sides.

Bake 375 degrees for 20 minutes until rolls are golden brown. They do not rise before baking. Let stand in pan for 5 minutes, then invert on a. wire rack set over wax paper or a cookie sheet. Spoon caramel that drips off back onto rolls again.
