3 apples, peeled and sliced
3 Bartlett pears, peeled and sliced
4 red plums, sliced
4 apricots, sliced
2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar

CRUMB TOPPING

3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 tbsp cocoa
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 stick margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Place all the fruits, water and sugar in a 9x13 pan and cover. Bake at 350º for one hour. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

CRUMB TOPPING: Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and margarine, mixing by hand until smooth. Press into prepared pan and bake on 350º for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and while hot, scrape with a fork to form crumbs.

Refrigerate or freeze compote until ready to use. Serve warm compote with crumbs and a scoop of ice cream.
