1 cup sugar
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
3 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
1½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teas¼poon salt

Icing: Buttercream Frosting
½ cup butter (1 stick)
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond flavoring
¼ cup milk
1-pound powdered sugar (4 cups)
1 - 2 drops food coloring

Cookies:
1. In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, milk, vanilla and egg. Blend well. Lightly spoon flour into mixture. Add baking powder, salt. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour for easier handling.
2. Heat oven to 400 degrees. On lightly floured surface roll out ½ of the cookie dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut with desired cookie cutters, place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake 5-9 minutes, until edges are light golden brown.

Icing:
1. Mix powdered sugar with butter, vanilla and milk slowly.
2. Add food coloring to separate bowls of frosting until you get desired colors.

Frost Cookies Using Frosting Bag:
1. Fill frosting bag after placing tips in proper place, leaving some frosting in bowls to use as base.
2. Use a butter knife and base frost each cookie with desired colors.
3. Use frosting bags to put details on each cookie.
