1 cup grits
3 cups boiling water
1/2 tsp. powdered garlic
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese plus 1/2 cup for the top
1 stick of butter
3 eggs well beaten
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cook grits in boiling water as directed on the package. While hot add butter and 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese. Stir until melted. Cool slightly; add milk to eggs with garlic powder and stir into grit mixture. Pour into a greased 2 qt. baking dish. Top with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve immediately.

This is one of Aunt Kate's recipes. I took the liberty of changing her recipe that called for a roll of cheese :). Feel free to use that if you'd like!
