Wet Ingredients
1c. Water
1/4c Liquid Aminos I use Bragg
1T Pure Maple Syrup
1t. Liquid Smoke
1/2t. Molasses
Dry Ingredients
1c. TVP (Texturized Vegetable Protein)
1/2c Nutritional Yeast
1-1/2t. Sage
1-1/2t. Ground Fennel
1t. Fresh Ground Pepper
1/4t. Cayenne Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, whisk together all wet ingredients. Bring to a boil.

In a small bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.
When liquid is boiling, reduce heat and whisk in dry ingredients. When thoroughly mixed, turn off heat and let sit for 10 minutes.

Preheat a non stick skillet. Cook crumbles over medium heat for about 10 minutes, while stirring every 1-2 minutes to keep from sticking. (Yes I know its a non stick skillet, but come on, when doesn’t something stick at some point??!!)

There are a variety of herbs and seasonings that you can add to this basic recipe. Fennel is the key though to get an authentic sausage flavor!!
Feel free to add Italian seasoning or Hungarian Paprika, herbs de province.
