2 Pounds ground beef
1 1/2 cups saltine crackers, crumbled
1 cup milk
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Flour for coating
Salt and pepper to taste

For the gravy:
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cans cream of mushroom soup

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 baking dish

2.In a large bowl mix beef, crackers, milk and seasonings

3. Shape the mixture into 1/2 thick hamburger steaks. I like mine to be more of a rectangle, they fit in the pan better. Dredge them in flour

4. Brown the steaks in a skillet over medium-high heat. Transfer them to a baking dish

5. Whisk together 2 cans soup with 1 1/2 cup milk. Pour over the steaks in the baking dish

6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes until cooked through and gravy is bubbly

7. Let stand 5 minutes before serving

we like ours with mashed potatoes. The gravy is great poured over the top of the potatoes.
