1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs, room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in vanilla until combined. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove the pound cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 mins. Transfer cake to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
