1 cup raisins
½ cup oil
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg

1¾ cup flour
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp allspice
¼ tsp cloves

½ walnuts(optional) I do not add

Need a cookie sheet. Bake @350º for 12-15 minutes until golden brown
In a Pot bring water & raisins to a boil.
Take off heat. Add oil to pot. Mix. Then add 1 cup sugar & 1 beaten egg & mix.

Add flour

soda
cinnamon
nutmeg
allspice
cloves

walnuts are optional Ice with Brown Sugar Icing

This was one of the favorite spice cakes of the Honess family. It was also a favorite of Mom & Dad's too. With the brown sugar icing , you couldn't say no to a piece of this delicious cake.
