1 C. Sugar
2 tsp. Baking Powder
2 Tbsp. Butter, Melted
1½ Tbsp. Anise Extract (You Can Substitute Almond OR Vanilla Extract)
4 Eggs
2 ½ C. Flour, All Purpose
Dash Salt
1 Egg (Set Aside For Egg Wash)

Preheat Oven to 350º.

-Mix first 5 ingredients together in medium size bowl. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time. Mix Well.
-Separate the dough into two balls. Roll into a log form. If the dough is sticky, wet your hands. The log should be about 12" long and 2" wide.
-In a small bowl put the one egg and 2 Tbsp. water and whisk together. Brush tops of logs.
-Bake for 20 minutes, remove from oven and cool for 2 minutes. Cut slices about 1" wide. Place them back onto cookie sheet on the cut side. Return to pan and Bake about another 10 minutes. Turn onto other side after about 5 of those minutes.
