Sage Apple Cranberry Dressing Recipe

1 loaf bread; dried and cubed/crumbled
1/3 cup butter; plus 2 tbsp. melted
4 ribs celery; diced
1 small onion; diced
3 medium apples; diced
1 tsp dried sage
1/8 tsp salt/pepper; +/- to taste
3 cloves garlic; minced/grated
3/4 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup warm white wine (or just use more broth)
1 cup warm low-sodium chicken broth (to desired consistency)

1. Slice, cut, crumble dried bread, place in a large bowl and set aside.
2. In a large sauté pan, melt the 1/3 cup butter.
3. Add the celery, onion, apples and sauté for about 4 minutes.
4. Add the sage, salt, pepper, garlic, and cranberries.
5. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
6. Remove from heat. Add the sautéed items to the bread in a large bowl; toss well.
7. Add the warmed wine or broth, slowly mix it in. More or less broth can be used, it is to the desired wetness/consistency.
8. Taste for salt and pepper, add more if needed.
9. Add to a baking dish and pour the remaining 2 tbsp butter over the top, cover
with foil and cook at 350° for 30 minutes.
10. Once it has cooked for 30 minutes, remove the foil and cook an additional 5 minutes uncovered. Serve and enjoy.
