Ingredients: Pasta: 3 C. of pasta salt (for water)
Vodka Sauce: 2 Tbsp. of Olive Oil 1/2 of a Yellow Onion 6 cloves of minced Garlic (3 Tbsp. from a jar of minced garlic) 28oz. of Crushed Tomatoes 6oz. of Tomato Paste 1/2 C. of Vodka 3/4 C. of Heavy Whipping Cream 1/2 C. of Parmesan (shaved or shredded) 1 tsp.of Crushed Red Pepper Flakes Salt to taste 2 Tbsp. minced fresh Basil (Italian seasoning)

Directions:Pasta: Add pasta to heavily salted water and boil for the recommended time.
Vodka Sauce: Heat a large pot with a lid to medium heat and add olive oil. Add the diced yellow onion and sauté until it becomes a brown color. Add in the garlic to the pot and sauté until fragrant. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir and simmer until the ingredients are heated through. Add vodka and let it come back to a simmer. Simmer for 5-7 minutes with a lid and allow for a small space for steam. Stir in heavy whipping cream and parmesan, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir until cheese is melted and smooth. Stir in basil (or Italian seasoning). Take off heat and add to pasta. |
