½ to 1 cup Cognac
½ cup sugar
4 bottles Champagne

Directions:

Combine first 3, refrigerate and let sit over night.
In a chilled punch bowl, pour mixture and add Champagne.

When serving by the glass, measure a shot or double shot of the mixture to each glass before topping off with champagne.
