Personal Notes:
We all knew that the holidays were in full swing when the large antique milk jug appeared in the refrigerator. After dinner, the Jam Cake would come out as well as trays of a variety of sweets. Small glasses of Boiled Custard were offered and readily accepted.

This recipe can be used to make a custard ice cream.
For ice cream, reduce milk to ½ gallon and increase flour to 4 T.
Pour into freezer. If needed, use cream to fill.
