2 C Flour

3 tsp Baking Powder

1 tsp Salt

4 T. Shortening

⅔ C Milk

(For Buttermilk Biscuits: Add ¼ tsp baking soda to flour and mix well. Sub ¾ C Buttermilk or Sour Milk for the regular Milk)

Preheat oven to 425 º Degrees

1. Place flour in a mixing bowl. and add baking powder and salt. Mix well.

2. Cut in Shortening until mixed.

3. Add milk stir quickly with a fork ONLY until the dough clings together.

4. ON A FLOURED SURFACE: Knead gently about 10 times. Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2" biscuit cutter or cup with rim dipped in flour.

4. Place on lightly sprayed baking sheet.

5. Bake 12-14 minutes till golden brown.
