5 lbs Delicious Apples
2 cups Sugar
2 tbs Cinnamon
2 tsp Vanilla
2 cups Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Butter

Directions:
Directions:
In a slow cooker melt butter.
Core the apples but do not peel.
Put the apples in a blender.
Blend on high until smooth.
Pour apples into the slow cooker and add spices, sugar and brown sugar.
Cook, covered, for 6 hours or until boil down to half.
Process for canning.

The peels from the apples give the red tint to the applesauce. I remember my grandmother making this applesauce as a child. I always liked eating it for breakfast when I stayed with her.

Her husband was the night forman at Pacific Fruits. He always told my grandmother that the fruit that he brought home "fell off the truck". I was always sure he was just pulling her leg; I'm sure he bought the fruit, he brought home.
