1 stick butter
1 C sugar
1 egg
1 tsp almond flavoring
1 1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 C sliced almonds

GLAZE
1-2 C powdered sugar
3-4 tbls milk
1 tsp almond flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and blend well. Add flavoring. Gradually add sifted flour until you have a dough ball. Divide the dough into fourths, form each portion into a 12 inch roll.

Place 2 of the rolls 4-5 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with your hands to make a 12"x2"x3/8" inch wide bar. Repeat with remaining rolls. Brush each roll with milk and sprinkle about 2 T of almonds on each.

Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown. While still warm, cut crosswise on the diagonal into 1 inch strips. Cool completely on wire rack. Drizzle with glaze.

Can freeze dough and let defrost before using.
