Snickerdoodles Recipe

1 C butter, barely softened
1 1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 3/4 C flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
CINNAMON MIXTURE
2 or 3 tsp ground cinnamon
2 T sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugar for 3-4 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla and beat for 1 minute. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Refrigerate for a 15-20 min or make into balls and then refrigerate. Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and roll twice in cinnamon sugar mixture. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Let sit on baking sheets for a couple of minutes before removing to a rack to cool.
