2 T hot water
1 1/2 tsp soda
3/4 C butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla
1 T corn syrup
1 1/2 C old fashion oats
1 1/2 C brown sugar
1 1/2 C flour
1 1/2 C flaked coconut



Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir soda into hot water. Add butter and syrup to hot water mixture. Stir rest of ingredients into butter mixture. Chill if dough is too soft.

Shape dough into 3/4 inch balls and place 3 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheet. Slightly flatten with floured fingers. (They really spread) Bake for 7-8 minutes. Remove to wire racks and cool.
