1 1/4 C butter
2/3 C granulated sugar
1 C brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
3 1/4 C sifted four
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 C chopped black walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Cream butter. Add sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Shape into (2) rolls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap in Saran wrap and chill well. Remove from refrigerator and cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 6-8 minutes until lightly browned around the edges.

The aroma from these cookies baking makes you want to eat the whole pan full. These were a favorite Christmas gift for friends especially when they were not familiar with Black Walnuts.
