Bread Dough:
2 packages yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
5 3/4 cups flour

Meat Mixture:
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, medium chopped
1 cups cabbage, shredded
1 can beer
salt/pepper
1 8 ounce package mozzarella, shredded

Directions:
Directions:
Bread Dough: Mix water and yeast. Scald milk. Add sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Add 2 cups flour and beat well. Add yeast mixture and egg. Add in the rest of the flour. Let rise. Use half for beer rocks and bake the rest in a loaf pan.

Meat Mixture (make while dough is rising): Cook ground beef, onion, cabbage, beer and salt/pepper. Let cool. Add mozzarella.

Roll out dough 1/4 inch thick. Brush with butter and cut into bread size pieces. Place 2 tablespoons meat mixture in center of bread. Fold over like fried pies. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake at 420º until brown. Remove from oven and brush with butter.

These freeze well.
