1 quart beef broth
5 medium turnips, peeled and grated
1 tsp pepper
1/2 Tbsp flour
1/2 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup Half-and-Half

Directions:
Directions:
Bring the broth, turnips, and pepper to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 15 - 20 minutes.
Melt the butter and stir in the flour to create a roux, then stir into the soup and cook 15 - 20 minutes more.
Purée the soup in the blender in batches and stir in the Half-and-Half.
