seasoning to taste
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped bell pepper
2 tbsps. flour

4 cups flour
2 tsps. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
½ cup shortening
1 cup milk

Directions:
For the filling, season and brown ground meat, add onions and bell pepper and flour, stirring until vegetables are well wilted. Remove from heat. For the dough, sift the dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Beat egg and add to milk. Add to flour mixture and work into dough. Roll very thin on lightly floured board. Cut into rounds (about 4-inch diameter).
To assemble, place 1 heaping tablespoon of filling in center of dough round. Fold edges together & crimp with fork dipped in water. Drop in hot oil & cook until golden brown. Drain & serve. Or bake at 350º until brown. Makes 18-20 pies.

Personal Notes: Pies can be placed in freezer.
