2 sticks butter (80% fat) ( soft enough to dent stick when you push gently)(salted)
300g shortening (like crisco)
900g confectioners sugar (sifted)
1 tablespoons corn syrup
2 teaspoons clear vanilla
1 teaspoon clear almond flavor

This is my favorite recipe.

AMERICAN BUTTERCREAM ICING

2 sticks butter (80% fat) ( soft enough to dent stick when you push gently)(salted)
300g shortening (like crisco)
900g confectioners sugar (sifted)
1 tablespoons corn syrup
2 teaspoons clear vanilla
1 teaspoon clear almond flavor

Beat butter 5 minutes (scrape sides of bowl and few times). Use paddle blade at speed of 4.
Add shortening, corn syrup and flavors. Beat 5 minutes
Turn speed to lowest setting, slowly add confectioners sugar. After completely incorporated, beat on speed of 4 beat 5 minutes.
When outside temperature is warm, add 3/4 cup all purpose flour after you have heated flour in 300 degree oven to 165 degrees, then let it cool before adding to frosting.
