1 pound of candied cherries
1 pound of candied pineapple
1 pound of nuts
1 pound of butter or margarine softened
1 pound of confectioners sugar or brown sugar
10 eggs separated
1 pound or 3 ½ cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
½ cup pure vanilla extract
½ cup orange juice

Directions:
Directions:
Diced fruit and coarsely chopped nuts and set aside. And a large mixing bowl cream butter sugar until light and fluffy then add egg yolks and blend well.
Shift together flour baking powder and salt add to fruit and nut mixture toss and coat. Add to batter mixture and blend with wooden spoon. Gradually stir in vanilla extract and orange juice. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold into batter. Turn batter into too well greased 8 inch two pans. Put wax paper on the bottom of the pans. Bake in a preheated oven 275° for two hours and 15 minutes or until well done.
