1 1/4 cups semolina flour
2 whole eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup yogurt
1/2 cup milk
shredded coconut - optional
almonds for decoration - optional

Syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
hot water

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl combine eggs and sugar. Mix well.
Add oil, milk, and yogurt. Mix well.
Add a pinch of salt and add baking powder.
When everything is mixed well, add the semolina flour.
Spread on a greased baking pan.
Heat oven to 300º. Bake for 30 minutes on the bottom row and 30 minutes on the top.
To prepare syrup: combine sugar, lemon juice, and water in a small saucepan. Stir until the sugar is melted.
Spread syrup over baked basbousa. Add almonds and shredded coconuts for decoration.
