1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 3/4 cup additional granulated sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream together shortening and peanut butter. Add sugars and mix. Add egg and mix. Add milk and vanilla extract and mix.

In separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly add to other mixture and stir.

Take about a teaspoon of dough, roll into a ball and roll in additional sugar. Place on baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes. As soon as cookies come out of the oven, add 1 or 2 kisses and press into cookie. Cool.
