1/2 cup sour milk(1/2 tbsp vinegar in 1/2 cup milk)
1/2 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 large eggs
1 cup boiling water in which 2 squares of bittersweet chocolate have been melted

Frosting
6 to 7 tbsp softened butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup cocoa
Milk to thin

Directions:
Directions:
Cream softened butter and brown sugar. Add milk, baking soda, flour and eggs. Mix then add chocolate and water mixture. Mix. Pour into buttered 8” cake pans.
Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on racks.

Frost with chocolate butter cream frosting.
Mix frosting ingredients till well mixed and smooth. Frost cake.
