Date Filling
* 1 cup dates
* 1 tbsp brown sugar
* 1/2 cup water

Crumb Mixture
* 1 cup flour
* 1/2 tsp baking soda
* 1/8 tsp salt
* 1 cup butter
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 2 cups rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
In a small sauce pan over medium heat, combine dates, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a boil and then cook until thickened.
Remove from heat and set aside.

In a separate bowl blend flour, baking soda, salt, butter, brown sugar, and rolled oats.
In a shallow baking dish, place approximately two-thirds of the crumb mixture and press down gently.

Pour the date mixture on the base layer and spread evenly.

Spread the remaining crumb mixture evenly over the dates.

Bake at 350º for 30 - 40 minutes.

Cook and enjoy.
