Directions: |
Directions:1. Mix margarine, sugar, and vanilla extra together until fluffy. 2. Mix in the flour and chopped walnuts until you get a dough. 3. Cover and refrigerate dough for about an hour. 4. Preheat oven to 375ºF. 5. Unwrap chocolates if they are individually wrapped. 6. Shape dough (~1 tablespoon per cookie) around each chocolate and form it into a ball. The chocolate should be fully covered and your cookie should just look like a ball of dough. 7. Place each cookie on a lightly greased cookie sheet. 8. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes. 9. While the cookies are warm, roll the cookies in powdered sugar. |

Notes: My mom and I have been baking these cookies together at Christmas time since I was a small child - I still get so excited to eat them every year!
The original recipe called for Hershey Kisses, but we have substituted so many types of chocolates over the years. We've done chocolate-covered almonds, dairy-free chocolates, and more. I hope you have fun testing out different combinations with your family!
