Classic Martini - five parts Gin, one part Dry Vermouth ~ green olive or lemon peel.

Gibson - Classic martini and substitute a cocktail onion for the Olive or peel.

Vesper - 1/2 oz Vodka, 1/4 oz Lillet Blonde (or close substitute), 2 oz Gin, Lemon Peel

Vodka Martini - six parts Vodka, one part Dr Vermouth (ore less), 3 Green Olives

Dirty Martini - A vodka Martini with 1/2 oz olive brine

Like Noel Coward, the English Playwright, I like my martini's dry. Believe it or not, there are some times on a hot summer day when bourbon may not be the right, or best choice. I always ask the bartender for one the above drinks mostly a dry vodka martini with 3 or more olives. and yes, "Shaken not stirred."
